24 June 2009-I'm Alive

Okay, I totally lost control on the blogging stuff because life has gotten crazy. Well, actually it was crazy but now it's easing off. When I got home Saturday I found our refrigerator door cracked open and I totally thought we'd ruined our fairly new fridge. Turns out, we didn't ruin the fridge, just all the stuff in it (and I thank the Lord for that). So I'm here but I haven't really picked up my camera in a few days and our house is a total mess so I will get back on the blog in a few days, we just have to sort out our home from all of our travels.

19 June 2009-The Last Day's Always Crazy

So today is the last day of camp and it's ALWAYS crazy. One thing I really wanted to do since we've been here was go on a monster hike, and that's exactly what we did...

Big View

We hiked between 4 or 5 miles in mid 90's heat only to cool off for a few minutes before the Mega Relay. Now, the Mega Relay is really super hard to expalin, but here are a few pics to help everyone understand...

Mega Relay 1

Above we had to transfer a wet tee from one kid to the other. Below, Zack had to feed Guffey baby food. There were lots of other crazy things along the way and you can see more great pics in the gallery...

Mega Relay 2

The best news is that we won the Mega Relay...

Mega Relay 3

So in the words of Spock and Luke Privett...live long and prosper.

18 June 2009-Birthdays and Big Adventures

I am slowly losing it with the blog updates because of the wild schedule we keep here at Fuge. And everywhere you go you have to walk like a country mile, so that inhibits the web time as well. The truth is that I don't even know where to start. We took a group picture in our awesome camp shirts but of course Squirrel had to get in a fight...

Kelsey on the Big Screen

And then we got a ticket...Glen...

Glen's Ticket

But then we hit the pool and celebrated Teri's birthday...

Happy Birthday Teri

I also had to give the 'you really need to clean your room' talk...

You've Got to Be Kidding Me

We had an awesome crazy busy day. And I'm really tired.

17 June 2009-A Woo Hoo Wednesday!

We are still having an awesome time here at X-FUGE. We did learn exactly why they're called the Smoky Mountains because today we had huge fog pretty much all day, which was actually kind of cool looking. The bad thing was that we had to battle the rain a lot so the picture taking was kind of slow going. However, Kelsey did get to go up front last night and compete in some contest where you like eat toilet paper or something and so we are like super proud of her. I thought she won but they gave it to the guy next to her but I'm pretty sure she won...

Kelsey on the Big Screen

We also got a picture of something that may make you parents sweat a little...

Bear Alert

Whoa, whoa, whao--don't get too worried yet, you see the good news is that they have only been spotted bears really late at night, like in the wee hours of the morning. That's a great deturrent unless you actually want to hunt the bear, like a few guys in our group do. But some things haven't changed, Squirrel is still fighting all the time...

Don't worry Michele he was winning before I took the picture

And Zach and Tristo are wanting to be very clear on what to do if they see a bear...

Bear Alert

Tonight we tore up the 'not updated since 1992' arcade...

Gamers

Now, I know I haven't had pics of every kid on here, but there's only one camera that I can upload with, so if your kids aren't with me, well, they aren't gonna be on the net. But everyone seems to be having a great time on camera or not. We've hiked, played disc golf, played volleyball, worked together on a few team biulding games, and all sorts of other awesome stuff outside of our Bible study time. I also want you all to know that for some reason, I'm having trouble with my email, so if you have sent me anything, I won't be immediately able to recieve it. However, if you need to reach me, please text or call. Our signal is feeble, but I WILL get back in touch with you!

By the way, Christa and I have been married three years today, so Happy Anniversary to us!

16 June 2009-First Full Day of Camp!!!

Today was our first full day of camp and we learned a few things. First, Colton's a Tree Climber...

I also saw Matt do something I never thought I'd see, so maybe camp is changing us ...

Once in a Lifetime

Ok, but seriously, X-Fuge 2009 has been a blast. We are settled in, we've learned the camp and we are ready to hear from God and be changed by His Spirit! Please pray for us as we hear His Word in the coming days...

Fuge 2009

Please pray for us this week and remember to check the gallery. I'll try to throw up a few new pics everyday.

15 June 2009-We're at Camp!!!

So here we are at camp; everyone's safe and things went great on the road. This is a great group of kids. The camp is pretty awesome, too. Here is where we're staying...

Guys Cabin

Now I know what you're thinking, yes it's a little rustic, but the inside is really nice--and safe even though you wouldn't think so from the outside. I guess it's a modern marvel...

On Stilts

The girls though got a place much closer to earth, even surrounded by it a little...

Girls Cabin

The only problem we're having is taking turns using the bathroom...

Outhouse

Ok, by now I hope you've figured out that I'm just kidding. Things are actually very nice...

Nice

This is basically where we're all staying. ...

13 June 2009-On the Links

Today some of the guys from church got together and played a little golf. It was a best ball tournament and we had some serious fun. I was glad that I got to play with some of my best friends...

Mike

And a couple of our students played, too...

Mike

And since we're putting pics on the internet, here is our third team...

Mike

Thanks for playing guys! I hope we can do this again soon!...

12 June 2009-Mike Stopped By

Today Mike from Prison Prevention stopped by the office. Well, we talked about some different goals we have for the summer and then I had to "show him my new guitar." I hoped this would happen...

Mike

Mike is just sick when it comes to the guitar. When I play, Alma usually shuts the door, but let me just say the door was wide open when Mike was playing. It's just awesome and I realize how amazing recorded music is, because Mike was just coming up with stuff and shredding the fret board and I was like, man I wish I could trap this stuff and put it on my iPod. It was awesome. Hopefully, we'll have him back to play again at church.

10 June 2009-I'm Busy

Yesterday we had an awesome day getting to go visit kids who have visited or showed some type of interest in our church at some point. I want to thank all of you who came to Reach-out, that means a lot to me, but way more to those we impact along the way.

So today I've been getting ready for our study in Revelation tonight and also trying to get all the loose ends tied for camp. That means everything has to be paid and packed, but also I have like massive bills that I have to pay before we leave and an office that is, well, embarrassing to say the least. But with our Truth Trek Summer Program and two camps on the dockett for the summer, I'm not sure that I've ever been busier here at Cloud Springs. We have a lot going on. So I jsut stopped for a moment to say, I'm busy.

08 June 2009-Your Sin Will Find You Out

Last night was quite eventful. Christa and I were in bed by 11:30, the earliest since the birth of Rhett. We were both crazy tired because it was Sunday and Christa had been on the road for 12 hours the day before with a 2 month old. So, Christa wakes me up at 2 in the morning and I don't want to go into too much detail, but this morning this is what we found...

Rolled

Now what's funny is that we were the only people that didn't attend this party. I mean our neighbors were in lawn chairs, the little girl across the street was watching, Mike and his family were in their back yard, even the Walker County Sheriff's Department showed up. So there are two lessons to this story. First, I can sleep through anything. Second, which goes back to what I told you guys in Sunday School, "be sure, your sin will find you out."

07 June 2009-Home Group

Tonight we had met in homes instead of meeting at church. Like Brother Matt says, there's nothing more old fashioned than that, since that is largely how the early church met. But our home group was a little small last night. So, A) Everyone needs to come to my home group next time, (I even made available that cool map) and B) You guys totally missed out on some awesome NASCAR Racing...

Look at Glen's Shirt

Glen and I just have one thing to say...BRING IT. We are beasts when it comes to Nascar! Thanks Glen for bringing the fam over!
