19 October 2009-Cold With A Chance of Mice

Most blogs, I only read about two paragraphs--tops. That's why I keep it short. I don't want to write stuff no one reads. That's why I'm not an author. But the heater isn't working on my wife's Jeep. That is already a bummer because it's cold all of a sudden, but even more of a bummer when you have a 7 month old. And there's a mouse in my house. Makes me sick. I think mice are the grossest things ever. Whenever I'm at home and I step on something or my pants rub my foot a certain way I jump because I think it's a mouse. No one should have to live that way.

So this week I am doing some work on our house, hunting a mouse Rambo style, and fixing our Jeep. Maybe I'll post some pics. Please pray for me on this. If you have some free time this week, come on over, I have plenty to do. We did make about $280 last night (after expenses). I want to thank Keesha Woodard, Clyde Locke, Michele Privett, the students who worked instead of playing football, and our church who paid to eat our wonderful spaghetti.

I wanted to give a little free webspace to a business I saw the other day at the post office. I felt their company car earned it.

I just want everyone one to know that I've had some awesome blog entries, but I just haven't had the time to put them on the web. I apologize, but maybe this will brighten your day...it did mine.

21 September 2009-Sweet Little Redneck Boy

It's raining in North Georgia, and I mean REALLY raining. So there's water just about everywhere. And after cancelling our service last night, we were able to watch our sweet little redneck boy play in the rain. God bless North Georgia.

But seriously, this rain is no joke. ...

Rain

I want to make a joke about the fellowship hall, but I just can't. That's a lot of water. Even my neighborhood is looking pretty rough.

More Rain

For you locals, this bridge is the back way into our neighborhood and that is Wilson Funeral Home in the background. Unbelievable. Good thing you can cut through the Food Lion parking lot.

More Rain

This is a huge concrete ditch by the Food Lion overflowing. I wanted to take a float and ride down it. Of course, that would be kind of sick, but it sounds fun.

15 September 2009-Hiking

About 3 years ago I hiked a 30 mile portion of the Appalachain Trail. It was pretty awesome except one of the shoes I was wearing tore up the back of my right ankle. I ended up having to wear flip flops for like a month. The shoes are nice, I just figured they didn't work for me. I was gonna sell them on ebay, because like they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." So I get the shoes and look them over so that I can list them porperly, and guess what. They are two different sizes. Burn. Maybe the other guy who has two different size La Sportiva's will list those on ebay and we can trade.

14 September 2009-Menlo, GA

Yesterday we had quite the busy day. We went to church as usual, then after church we headed to Cloudland Canyon State Park for our church picnic. This was a 45 minute drive (traveling at Mitch Norman speed, mind you) before we headed to Woodstock, GA for the evening. We headed there to see Christa's sister Alicia before she departed for Costa Rica. So we did some serious traveling yesteday. The best thing about traveling is that Rhett sleeps really well on the road.

Sleeper

Now, this trip was not for the faint of heart. We passed through this town called Menlo. Even when we told lifetime Georgian's that we stopped in Menlo, they were like 'Whoa.' Not because of danger or anything like that, just because they are still in 1965 and they think Richard Petty has still left NASCAR to drag race. Of course, we looked like total moron out-of-towners mainly because our car is shiny and built in this millenium, but also because I was taking a picture of the gas pump...

Yes, that is for real. We did finally make it to see Alicia, who spotted us from the stage in the way back of the church (a church that seats like 7,000). That was amazing and certainly worth noting. She was glad to see Rhett before her orientation started and immenent departure for Costa Rica.

3 September 2009-A Little Boy

Today when Rhett came home with Christa, I went to get him out of the car for her. I brought him inside and set him down and I looked and thought, 'That's not a baby, that's a little boy.' He is starting to look like a little boy. And not only that, he's starting to do things little boys do. About 30 seconds after I took this picture he actually pulled the flower vase over, which is what I get for letting him be a little boy. But he's really starting to grow up and make noise and I was used to parenting this baby that basically slept, ate, and...you know...but now I'm like, 'Holy cow, we have a little boy!' So pray for us. That is what I meant to say. Pray for us.
